20250324 Measures of Center and Spread 3.1 (Mean, Median, Mode)
Data are from Statistic with technology, Dr. Kozak https://stats.libretexts.org/Bookshelves/Introductory_Statistics/Statistics_with_Technology_2e_(Kozak)/03%3A_Examining_the_Evidence_Using_Graphs_and_Statistics/3.01%3A_Measures_of_Center
Example 3.1.4 affect of extreme values on mean and median
Suppose you have the same set of cats from Example 3.1.1 but one additional cat was added to the data set. Example 3.1.6 contains the six cats’ weights, in pounds
STEPS: copy-paste special-transposed
result:
it will automatically arrange your data from smallest to largest! (taught by One Dollar)
Finding MEAN, MODE, MEDIAN:
MEAN:
input: AVERAGE (variable#:variable#)
MEDIAN:
There are 6 data points so the middle of the list would be between the 3rd and 4th number
MODE: the most frequent/repetitive
Using Google spreadsheets is really helpful in finding mean, median, and mode easily and conveniently!
